The dangers of drunk driving could not be more obvious. If you drive while you are drunk, there is always the possibility that you are going to be pulled over. All over the country, there are laws against drinking and driving. But outside of skirmishes with the law, there are some real dangers posed by drunk driving.
These real dangers include damage to property and loss of lives. We really do not need to tell you, but there are many people out there who have suffered a lot because a drunk driver took away their loved one or damaged their property in ways that can get them bankrupt. A local company (Alpine Air Care) is sponsoring DUI awareness talks in the schools around the area, and it seems to be opening some eyes.
Their message is, if you like to drink, don’t even think about getting behind the wheel, unless if you want to go on a suicide mission to drive yourself over a high cliff. If you are going out, make sure you have someone with you who will not be drinking and would be the sane one in the group once everyone has gone drunk.
What can we do to solve it? In South Korea, there are people who drive drunk people to their homes on their own (the drunk person) cars. It is a good idea that I hope catches on in the US.
